Update payment method

Hero Marketer uses Paddle for billing. Payment method changes happen through Paddle's billing portal.

How to update

  1. Open settings, then Billing.
  2. Click Manage subscription. The Paddle billing portal opens in a new tab.
  3. In the portal, click Payment method.
  4. Add or replace the card.
  5. Confirm.

The change is live immediately. Your next renewal uses the new payment method.

What payment methods Paddle supports

Paddle accepts:

  • Major credit and debit cards. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover.
  • PayPal.
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay (where supported by your browser and device).
  • Bank transfer (for some plans and regions).

Bank transfer availability varies by country. The portal shows what's available for your account.

Multiple payment methods

You can have a backup payment method. If the primary fails, Paddle automatically attempts the backup. Add a backup the same way you add the primary.

What if my payment fails

Paddle retries failed payments a few times over several days. If all retries fail:

  • Your subscription enters a grace period (a few days) during which the app continues working.
  • Email reminders go to the address on your account.
  • After the grace period, the subscription is cancelled and access ends.

To recover from a failed payment:

  1. Update the payment method.
  2. Open the Paddle portal and click Retry payment on the failed invoice.
  3. Confirm. The charge processes immediately and access is restored.

If retries fail and you've already passed the grace period, you can re subscribe through the normal pricing flow. Your data is retained per the standard cancellation policy. See Cancel your subscription.

VAT, tax, and billing details

For VAT identifiers, business names, or full billing addresses on invoices, edit them through the Paddle portal:

  1. Open the Paddle portal as above.
  2. Go to Billing details.
  3. Update name, address, VAT or tax ID.
  4. Save.

Updated details apply to your next invoice and are NOT retroactive on past invoices. For changes to a past invoice, contact support.

Canceling a card before subscription expiry

If you cancel a card while a subscription is active, the next renewal will fail unless you've added a new payment method first. Update the payment method before cancelling the card to avoid a service interruption.

Security

Paddle is PCI compliant. Card details never touch Hero Marketer's systems; they're stored and processed by Paddle directly. We see only what Paddle exposes to merchants (last four digits, expiration, billing address).
