I'm out of credits

Your credit balance is at zero. AI features are paused until you top up or your monthly allocation refreshes.

What's blocked

When you're out of credits:

  • The campaign wizard's create button is disabled. You can browse and edit drafts but can't launch a new campaign.
  • Hero AI prompts you to top up. Mid conversation, Hero AI pauses and asks for credits before continuing.
  • Re running product analysis is paused.

What still works

Without credits, you can still:

  • View the dashboard and existing campaign performance.
  • Manage accounts and products (add, edit, switch).
  • Read past Hero AI conversations.
  • See historical campaigns built earlier.

Hero Marketer doesn't lock you out of anything you've already created.

How to get unblocked

Buy a top up

The fastest way: $50 buys 50 credits. Top up credits don't expire and roll over until used. Click Buy credits anywhere it shows up (sidebar widget, out of credits screen, billing settings).

See Buy more credits.

Wait for renewal

If you can hold off, your monthly allocation refreshes at the start of your next billing period. Check the billing settings page for the renewal date.

Upgrade your plan

If you regularly run out of credits, upgrading is usually cheaper than recurring top ups:

  • Pro to Growth: from 50 to 100 credits.
  • Growth to Agency: from 100 to 250 credits.

See Compare plans and Change your plan.

Why you ran out

A few common patterns:

You're using Hero AI heavily

Hero AI uses variable credits per question. Deep investigations (multiple campaigns, several weeks of data) cost more than simple lookups. If you've been running long Hero AI sessions, that's the most likely culprit.

Check the credit transaction history in billing settings to see what's consumed credits.

Many regenerations

Each ad copy regeneration costs 1 credit. If you regenerated several times on a campaign, those add up alongside the original campaign credit.

Recent campaign creation

If you built several campaigns this month (each costs 1 credit), that drains your allocation. Pro's 50 credits cover 50 campaigns plus some Hero AI usage; Pro's plan is sized for moderate, not heavy, use.

I just upgraded my plan but I'm still out of credits

Plan upgrades grant the new allocation prorated for the rest of the period. If you used most of the lower plan's credits before upgrading, the prorated grant may not be enough to cover what you've already used.

If this seems wrong, contact support. We can audit the math and adjust if there's an error.

I had a balance yesterday and now I'm out

Two main causes:

  • Renewal happened. If your billing period rolled over, last month's leftover allocation expired and the new allocation hasn't been the larger pool you expected. Check the credit transaction history.
  • A larger AI session ran than expected. Hero AI sometimes consumes more credits when investigating deeply. The transaction history shows each charge with a description.

If the math in the transaction history doesn't add up, contact support. We'll investigate.

Can I get a refund for unused credits?

Top up credits are non refundable as a standard rule. Subscription based credits aren't refundable separately because they're bundled with the subscription. If you cancel within 14 days, the Refund policy covers the subscription fee.
